sleep for humans and architecture

A critical thinking in architectural field about daily lives of humans might give the fact that the most important activity of humans is sleeping. There are several reasons. When we look at our life spaces, they are coloured by private sense and public sense. The deepest private zone must be the place for sleeping. On the other hand our average time of sleep may be around 8 hours. We have 24 hours and spend 1/3 a day for sleep. In this sense we sleep for 1/3 of our lifetime. Sleeping is a special and a holy job for us. Then how does this truth effect an architecture? What kind of possibility does an architecture have in terms of sleeping?
