自然と区別して「大自然」という概念を想定して建築について考えてみようと思います。まず最初のとっかかりとして、「大自然」は「建築」という概念の外側にあって、それぞれ個々の事例として見つけ出せるようなものだとしましょう。「大自然」といった時、それが一体、何を表すのかを、これから様々な事例で考えてゆきたいと思います。それから、ただ自然と言ったときは、人工と対立する概念と考えればよいでしょう。ここで言う「大自然」は対立概念が存在しないものと考えています。
'NATURE'
Architecture talks a lot. It has been bearing many metaphors. Now 'NATURE' is picked up as a counter notion of architecture. 'NATURE' wants to say uncertain but huge range of issues which are found outside Architecture. When we look at the history, the same idea can be found out in the French architectural history around the end of 18th century. It was concerning to 'sublime'. Visionary architects produced quite unique projects at that age.
It needs to distinguish the difference between 'NATURE' and nature. The word nature can make a couple with the word art. So 'nature and art' is a pair. And they work only within Architecture. This means that an alternative usage of 'nature and art' can describe happenning limited in the field where Architecture can give senses.
'NATURE' will appear in specific events.
