まちや集落も最初の礎（いしずえ）は人間の意志によって築かれるものです。世界の集落調査や都市の研究によって、核になる建物の位置や主要な道のルートなどは多くの場合、誰かが意図的に決定していることが明らかになっています。まちや集落は、建築と違い自然発生したと思いがちですが、そうではないのですね。人間の考えぬかれた意図をもって計画されているのです。川や丘などの天然の地形をどれほど的確に読み取っていたか、古いまちの起源を調べると驚かされることが多いですね。まちの礎を築いた開拓者の最初の意志は非常に尊いと思います。
resolution of human beings for setting up their initial place
In the initial stage human beings got together around rich land and made groups. Then they had started to live their lives with construction of home and road. This is just a simple summary but two things can be figured out. One is about the reason why human beings got together. The answer is in a given condition from Nature. And the other is about resolution of human beings. Despite of complicated appearance of town or village with over growth of greenery or something oldness, the fact that layout for village, how to make a route of roads and which structures should be built up in the centre, must be decided with human beings intention. Any village or town were never given birth without resolution of human beings.
