地のつく言葉を幾つか挙げてみると、どれも建築に深いつながりがあることが分かります。地面、地形、地勢そして地球。地面は建物がたつところ、地形はまちや都市が広がっているところ。地勢は山や川のあり方です。あえて対応させるとこんな感じでしょうか。
また「図と地」の考え方は地という語のもつ性質をよく表しています。注目している部分が「図」その背後にあるのが「地」ですね。両者は相対的な関係なので、何に注目するかで「図」となる部分が変わります。したがって「地」の役割はつねに背景にあって主役を引き立たせることです。
建築にとって地面、地形、地勢は背景であり、与条件です。注意深くそれを読み解くことが必要です。最後になりましたが、地球に対しても同じように、もっともっと注意を払い、これを与条件と思うことが必要になっていますね。その1 完

These three words which are concerned to "soil", ground, geography and topography might be a useful tool to reveal the truth of architecture. Making a couple with these words will give relevat stages. Architecture with ground goes to the technical field where the way how to realize an idea is considered. And one with geography goes to the urban design field where city is argued. Finally one with topography goes to the cultural field where climate, political or religious issues are thought. So "soil"based notions have deep relationship with architecture.
