集落や都市は建物同様、自然発生したわけではありません。誰かの意図と意志によって最初の礎が築かれていることが、調べてみると多くの場合わかります。集落や都市は長い時間をかけて自然発生的に成長してきたような印象を受けることが多いですが、人間の必要と決断によってつくられた人工物なんですね。そういう意味で建築と一緒です。

In the primitive stage the first step to build up structure was done by very considerable will of human beings. They were desperate. When new building have to be set up against wild nature and enemy outside, all wisdom turned into the action. Then it is also true that in the case of village, the assemble of structures, the first step must be done by the same way. Village research says foundation stone of all villages on the earth were settled by someone. It means all were designed by the will of human.
