版＝スラブとして床と壁はスペースを仕切ります。壁は仕切るのが使命ですが、時として象徴的な意味を帯びる場合がありますね。「壁をつくる」というような場合、壁は実体がないスペースも仕切ることを意味しています。心理的な壁ですね。また「ベルリンの壁」のような例は、壁が実体的にと同時に心理的にも「仕切り」であることを示すものです。一方、床はどうでしょうか。垂直方向に広がるスペースの「仕切り」という役割の他に、壁のような象徴的なはたらきはないようです。「床をつくる」とか「ベルリンの床」というフレーズがメタファーとして意味をもってくるには、逆にどんな仮定をすればいいでしょうか。
division of space by wall and floor
In the aspect of function both wall and floor work as the partition of space. Horizontally expanding volume gets to be divided into two volumes by the wall and vertically volume is done into two by the floor. This is a technical matter. But the wall has a metaphorical meaning that will for refusing against something. For example "Berlin Wall" was the symbol of segmentation between East and West. However the word of floor is not refered as a metaphor like this. Gravity might be the reason for the difference between wall and floor.
